Man remanded in custody after knife attack in Heroldstatt

A 46-year-old man is alleged to have attacked a 37-year-old man with a kitchen knife at worker accommodation in Heroldstatt on 22 February. The dispute between the two men escalated after they had been playing cards with other residents. According to the investigation so far, the 46-year-old retrieved the knife from the kitchen, and the other man sustained superficial cuts. Witnesses took the knife from the attacker before the injured man was taken to a clinic. Police arrested the suspect shortly afterwards and secured the suspected weapon. A judge ordered pre-trial detention on suspicion of attempted manslaughter, while the investigation continues.
