Visiting fans threatened with knife and robbed in Herne

Two visiting fans from Moers, aged 25 and 27, were attacked at their car by the ice hockey arena on Am Revierpark in Herne at about 11:40 p.m. on 16 October 2026. The older man was in the passenger seat when assailants opened the door, threatened him with a knife and demanded a sweater and a fan drum. He handed over both items. Another assailant struck the 25-year-old as he was getting into the car. The attackers came from a group of five people dressed in dark clothing and allegedly wore Herner HEV scarves beneath their clothes. They fled, and an immediate police search initially failed to find them. Police recovered some of the stolen property during that search; detectives are investigating and seeking witnesses.
