Three teenage suspects held on remand after knife attack on two women in Heidelberg

Following an initially verbal dispute, three teenage suspects are alleged to have jointly attacked two young women at Bismarckplatz in Heidelberg on the evening of 11 July. According to police and prosecutors, they used, among other things, a knife and glass bottles. One woman suffered a traumatic brain injury, stab wounds and several deep cuts to her face and required inpatient hospital treatment. When she briefly lost consciousness and fell to the ground, her minor sister allegedly came to help her; she too was then allegedly attacked and suffered cuts to her face. Arrest warrants against the three teenage suspects were executed and they were subsequently taken to a correctional facility. The investigation is ongoing.
