Store detective threatened with switchblade in Heide

A 26-year-old allegedly threatened a store detective with a switchblade at a department store on Friedrichstraße in Heide on Wednesday afternoon. The detective had confronted the man, who was said to have several items of clothing in a backpack, and demanded their return. According to the detective, the suspect showed the knife, said he would stab him, pushed him aside and then left the store.

Police found and arrested the man shortly afterwards on Kleine Freiheit. No knife was recovered. The suspect admitted shoplifting but denied using a knife. An investigating judge ordered his remand in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
