Man threatens police officers in Heide with knife

A 33-year-old man allegedly threatened police officers with a knife on Thursday evening at the market square in Heide. Officers had attempted to check him and place him under provisional arrest because of an outstanding warrant. After being told to do so, he dropped the knife, but allegedly threatened the officers again with a metal bar, kicked at them and made further threats. The officers restrained him and were not injured. Following a blood sample over suspected alcohol and drug influence, Meldorf Local Court ordered his remand in custody. Police are investigating, among other matters, suspected resistance against enforcement officers, attempted bodily harm, threats and insults.
