Man attacks police officers with knife in Hattingen
A 28-year-old man allegedly attacked two police officers with a knife at Hattingen police station at about 5:10 a.m. on Saturday. After officers repeatedly ordered him to put down the knife and used pepper spray, he allegedly climbed over the station counter and moved towards them. One officer then fired his service weapon to stop the attack. The man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while both officers were uninjured. Criminal police in Hagen are investigating.
