Passenger threatens train conductor with knife on ICE

Shortly before an ICE stopped in Hanover on 4 May, a 35-year-old passenger allegedly threatened a 51-year-old train conductor with a fruit knife. The conductor had previously requested assistance from federal police during a ticket inspection after the man was unable to produce either a ticket or photographic identification. Federal police found the man after the train stopped at the main station, seized the knife and arrested him. The conductor stopped working after the incident. The man was released after police measures were completed, and criminal investigations were initiated.
