Minor seriously injures man in knife stabbing at Hanover stop

At the Leinhausen light-rail stop in Hanover on Friday evening, a minor allegedly stabbed a 32-year-old man several times with a knife after an initially verbal confrontation. The man had approached the minor after the latter had reportedly become involved in a violent dispute with a teenage girl.

The 32-year-old suffered serious injuries and escaped onto an arriving tram. Emergency services treated him at the next stop before he was taken to hospital; police said there was no immediate danger to his life. The minor was arrested nearby after allegedly discarding the knife. Prosecutors opened an investigation on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
