Man detained after knife threat in Hanover
Early on Thursday, a 42-year-old man threatened a 33-year-old passer-by with a knife at Raschplatz in Hanover. Following an argument over a refused cigarette, he held the knife toward the man's chest from several metres away and made stabbing motions without injuring him. The suspect and his female companion initially fled toward the main railway station but were detained shortly afterwards beneath the station. Police seized the knife and opened an investigation on suspicion of making threats.
