Man seriously injured in knife attack in Hanover

A 42-year-old man was seriously injured during an altercation at a venue on Sallstraße in Hanover's Südstadt district. Police and prosecutors said that on 14 August, at around 2 p.m., he first became involved in an argument with a 59-year-old man, which escalated into a physical struggle. The 59-year-old is alleged to have stabbed him several times with a knife. Emergency services took the injured man to hospital, and he was not in life-threatening condition. The suspect initially fled but was arrested near the scene a few minutes later. Police are investigating attempted manslaughter, and prosecutors have applied for pre-trial detention.
