Man suffers neck injury in reported knife attack in Hamburg

A 56-year-old man reported that he was attacked with a knife on the evening of 18 November near an as-yet unidentified Rewe supermarket in Hamburg's Bergedorf district. He said he was attacked from behind in the entrance or car-park area and suffered a neck injury. After first going to his accommodation, an acquaintance took him to a hospital in Lohbrügge. Doctors found a potentially life-threatening stab wound, and his condition later stabilised following inpatient treatment. Police are investigating suspected attempted homicide and are seeking witnesses.
