Train conductor threatened with pointed object at Halle main station
On 18 February, a passenger allegedly threatened a train conductor on platform 11 at Halle (Saale) main station with a silver-coloured pointed object. According to Federal Police, the object may have been a knife or a nail file. The conductor had previously asked the passenger to leave a regional train after it arrived in Halle from Halberstadt.
The passenger allegedly followed the railway employee onto the platform and failed to keep his distance despite repeated requests. After a brief scuffle, he is said to have held the object toward the conductor and made a threatening gesture. The employee retreated into the train, had the doors closed and ended his shift.
Officers initially found nobody on the platform but located the 26-year-old suspect shortly afterwards outside the station and took him to a police station. No dangerous object was found during the search. Investigations are under way, including on suspicion of assault and making threats.
