Man remanded in custody after knife attack at Göppingen bus station

A 54-year-old man was seriously injured at Göppingen bus station on 4 January. According to police and prosecutors, he had initially become involved in a verbal dispute with a 36-year-old man on a bus platform. The suspect is alleged to have then stabbed him in the thigh with a knife.

The injured man received first aid until paramedics arrived and was taken to hospital; his injuries were not life-threatening. The 36-year-old, who initially fled, presented himself to police shortly afterwards and was carrying the alleged weapon. He has been remanded in custody on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
