Man injured in face with utility knife during dispute in Gießen
During a confrontation near the Lahn riverbank in Gießen on 28 February, a 48-year-old man allegedly injured a 30-year-old in the face with a utility knife. Police said both men were holding knives; the 30-year-old sustained a bleeding cheek wound and a bone fracture. The alleged attacker initially fled but was located and detained during a search in the city. He was released after police measures because no grounds for detention were available. The background to the dispute remains unclear, though police said a drug transaction may have been involved.
