Men injure 37-year-old with knife in attempted robbery in Gießen
A 37-year-old man was allegedly injured with a knife during an attempted robbery on Friedrichstraße in Gießen on 1 April. At about 5:30 p.m., two men allegedly attacked him, pushed him to the ground and tried to take the mobile phone he was holding. During the confrontation, he suffered cuts to his arm and back and was taken to hospital; the injuries were not life-threatening. He first fled to a nearby shop and then to a pub, while the attackers fled after the assault. Police later identified and arrested two suspects, who were brought before a judge and remanded in pre-trial detention.
