Knife displayed during flight after theft in Giengen
An unidentified man allegedly entered a jeweller's shop on Marktstraße in Giengen at about 9:20 a.m. on 7 March and pretended to be interested in buying goods. Police said he took several valuable bracelets and necklaces before leaving the shop at about 9:50 a.m. One witness tried to hold him outside the shop, and during the subsequent flight the man collided with another witness who also tried to stop him. When the offender suddenly had a knife in his hand, the second witness stopped pursuing him. The man later threw the knife away and escaped in the direction of Planiestraße. Both witnesses sustained minor injuries; police searches did not locate the suspect and the investigation continues.
