Gerlingen: Man threatens police officers with knife
In Gerlingen, a 38-year-old man threatened police officers with a knife at about 15:30 on 11 July 2025. Police had previously been called because he was allegedly violent towards family members and had announced that he would stab officers and kill someone. When officers addressed him on Jahnstraße, he grabbed the knife, swung it in front of his body and ignored orders to put it down. After police threatened to use a firearm, he dropped the knife and was arrested. He was taken to a psychiatric hospital after police measures were completed.
