Man threatens police officers with knife in Gera
A 74-year-old man allegedly approached police officers threateningly with a knife inside his apartment in Gera on 27 May. Officers had attended after a report that he was causing a disturbance in a neighbouring building, as a risk to other residents could not be ruled out. After pepper spray was used, the man retreated into his apartment and locked himself inside. Officers subdued him at about 11:20; he sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment. Additional police and emergency personnel were called in, and the affected streets were fully closed.
