Security worker attacked with screwdriver in Gera
A 38-year-old man is alleged to have attempted to steal an alcoholic drink from a supermarket on Heinrichstraße in Gera late on Tuesday afternoon. When a 24-year-old security worker confronted him, he was holding a screwdriver and thrust it in the worker's direction. The worker was uninjured because he was wearing a protective vest. During the subsequent physical confrontation, another security worker, aged 36, sustained slight injuries. Police took the intoxicated man into custody and are investigating him, including on suspicion of attempted dangerous bodily harm.
