Woman threatens employees with knife in Gelsenkirchen

A woman threatened employees with a knife inside the sales area of a butcher's business in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. Police said she went behind the counter, took the knife and then injured herself while in a mental health crisis. An off-duty police officer who happened to be nearby spoke to her calmly until responding officers arrived. After officers used a conducted energy device, the woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two employees who were in shock were also taken to hospitals for treatment.
