Man critically injured in altercation in Geesthacht

A 33-year-old man was critically injured in an altercation at the municipal cemetery on Berliner Straße in Geesthacht on 26 April. According to police and prosecutors, two men had arranged to meet there and became involved in a dispute. A knife was allegedly used during the conflict, and the man's injuries indicated such use.

Emergency personnel treated the injured man at the scene before taking him to hospital. His condition stabilised slightly after emergency surgery. The suspected perpetrator initially fled but turned himself in at a Geesthacht police station during the night of 27 April. The 23-year-old man was provisionally detained and later released after police measures. Investigators are pursuing suspected dangerous bodily harm.
