21-year-old seriously injured in knife attack in Garbsen

A 41-year-old man is alleged to have attacked a 21-year-old with a knife on Saturday evening at the tram terminus on Sandstraße in Garbsen following an argument. Police said the two men had previously been involved in a physical altercation earlier that day and encountered each other again near a kiosk. A witness intervened and separated the attacker from the younger man. After fleeing to a nearby venue, the suspect was held there by further witnesses until police arrived. The 21-year-old was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries and was later reported to be in stable condition. The 41-year-old was arrested, and investigators are treating the case as a suspected attempted homicide.
