Man seriously injured by stab wound in Friesoythe altercation
During an altercation near a petrol station on Altenoyther Straße in Friesoythe on 11 October 2026, a 32-year-old man was seriously injured by a stab from an unidentified object. According to the information available so far, up to four men aged 24 to 42 attacked him and a 31-year-old man with their fists, a golf club and pepper spray. Witnesses reported the altercation at about 8:30 p.m.; the two men escaped by car. Later that evening, the attackers used a golf club to damage two parked cars at the men's home address and fled. The 32-year-old was taken to hospital because of the stab wound. Police identified suspects and opened criminal proceedings; they are still investigating the circumstances.
