A 33-year-old man allegedly targeted two bank branches in central Frankfurt on Thursday. At a branch on Neue Mainzer Straße at about 17:55, he demanded money from an employee and pulled a knife when the employee did not comply. He initially fled without taking anything.

According to police, another incident occurred at about 18:40 at a bank branch on Goetheplatz. The man allegedly first verbally threatened an employee, then demanded cash from customers and a bank employee while displaying a knife. He left with a low two-figure sum but was arrested after a customer alerted police and followed him from a safe distance. Police seized the knife and the cash.
