Knife threat during attempted robbery in Essen
During an attempted aggravated robbery in Essen, a passenger is alleged to have grabbed a 32-year-old taxi driver by the neck and held a knife in front of his face. The driver triggered the taxi alarm at about 16:51 on 7 August and sustained minor injuries. A 36-year-old witness blocked the taxi with his car, after which the passenger fled on foot. Police later stopped a vehicle after a pursuit and provisionally detained its 45-year-old driver and 26-year-old passenger.
