21-year-old seriously injured after attack in Essen
A 21-year-old man was attacked by several people and seriously injured on Rüttenscheider Straße in Essen during the night of 28 June. He sustained stab injuries and was taken to hospital; at first, a danger to his life could not be ruled out. Police arrested a 22-year-old suspect at the scene, who was due to be brought before a judge. Shortly beforehand, the injured man and other guests had been involved in an altercation at an Irish pub on the same street. Investigators are examining whether that dispute was connected to the later attack.
