Three injured in Essen altercation involving stabbing and bladed weapons
Two men suffered stab injuries during an altercation involving several people in Essen on the evening of 18 August. Police said the situation had escalated outside a residential building after disputes connected to a separation and a move-out. Stabbing and bladed weapons were reportedly used in the fight. The two injured men received medical treatment and were taken to hospital; neither was in life-threatening condition. Two men were provisionally arrested. A police officer was injured during the operation and was subsequently unfit for duty. Police are investigating dangerous bodily harm.
