Man holds knife to woman's neck in attempted street robbery in Erkelenz
A 28-year-old woman was allegedly targeted in an attempted street robbery in Erkelenz-Oerath on the evening of 5 January. She had stopped her car because the windscreen wipers were frozen when an unknown man approached her from behind. According to the woman, he held a knife to her neck and demanded cash. When she tried to retrieve her wallet from the vehicle, her dog on the back seat barked. The man is alleged to have fled without obtaining any money. Police are seeking witnesses.
