Man threatens supermarket staff in Erfurt with utility knife
A 41-year-old man allegedly threatened two employees at a supermarket in Erfurt with a utility knife on the evening of 11 February. After his payment card reportedly failed at the checkout, he is said to have put groceries into a backpack and passed the checkout area. When staff addressed him, police said he removed the knife from his trouser pocket, held it threateningly in front of him and fled. Officers located him near the scene and provisionally detained him; a judge was to decide whether he would be remanded in custody.
