Armed robbery at discount store in Emmerich am Rhein
Several masked offenders threatened multiple employees as they opened a discount store on 's-Heerenberger Straße in Emmerich am Rhein at about 5:45 a.m. on 5 January. They displayed knives and a baton and forced the staff to open a safe. The offenders took a low five-figure sum of cash and fled on foot through rear areas and private gardens towards Theodor-Heuss-Straße. Their subsequent route is not known.
