Woman allegedly stabs brother in Duisburg, causing life-threatening injuries
Following an intrafamily dispute in an apartment building in Duisburg, a 39-year-old woman is accused of critically injuring her 41-year-old brother with a knife at about 17:38 on 16 August. Police officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived; the injured man was taken to hospital for inpatient treatment and was later reported to be out of danger. The woman then withdrew to her apartment, where officers forced open the door, provisionally arrested her and secured the suspected weapon. A judge ordered her remand in custody, including on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. Investigators are still examining the motive and background.
