Woman critically injured in knife attack in Duisburg
An altercation occurred in an apartment in Duisburg-Huckingen at about 14:17 on 21 January 2026 between a 51-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman. The woman was seriously injured with a knife and, according to police, remained in critical condition. Officers arrested the suspect without resistance near the scene and secured the suspected weapon. The injured woman was admitted to hospital for treatment. The public prosecutor's office is treating the case as an attempted homicide, while a homicide investigation team examines the background and motive.
