Man allegedly attacked wife with knife in Düsseldorf
A 47-year-old man allegedly attacked his wife violently and with a knife on Oberbilker Allee in Düsseldorf on 9 August. Several witnesses intervened, overpowered the accused man and held him until police arrived. The woman suffered minor injuries, and one witness was also slightly injured and received outpatient treatment. The man was provisionally detained and blood samples were taken. Prosecutors were at that time treating the case as attempted manslaughter, and he was due to be brought before an investigating judge.
