Man seriously injured by knife stabbings in Düsseldorf
A 30-year-old man was seriously injured by several knife stabbings during an altercation on Luegallee in Düsseldorf. A 19-year-old woman was also seriously injured when she tried to stop a group fleeing in a car and was carried several metres on its bonnet. A witness sustained minor injuries after being struck by the vehicle.
According to the investigation so far, the man and his girlfriend encountered her former partner and his companions. The group allegedly followed the couple to Luegallee, where an argument developed at about 10:52 p.m. on 4 July. At least two people, including the suspected knife assailant, remained at large. Police are investigating the sequence of events and the allocation of individual acts.
