Store detective threatened with knife during confrontation in Düren
An unknown man allegedly became involved in a confrontation with a store detective after a theft at a grocery store in Düren on 20 May. The detective had observed the man put several bottles of alcohol into his jacket and leave the checkout area without paying. When the detective confronted him, a physical confrontation first occurred inside the store and then outside. During it, the detective noticed a knife in the unknown man's hand and stopped pursuing the confrontation. The detective was slightly injured but did not require an ambulance. The man fled, and criminal police are investigating.
