Man stabs woman with knife in Drochtersen
A 39-year-old man allegedly stabbed a 36-year-old woman several times with a knife after an argument at a detached house in Drochtersen late on 30 December. Despite her injuries, the woman reached neighbours, who called police and emergency services. After treatment at the scene, she was flown to a hospital in Hamburg with initially life-threatening injuries; the hospital later reported that she was no longer in acute danger.
The man initially fled by car but was recognised, stopped and arrested during the search. Police said he had also sustained cuts and was taken to hospital under police guard. The investigation is continuing.
