Man pulls knife during arrest in Döbeln

A 44-year-old man in Döbeln reportedly kicked a police officer and punched him in the face during an identity check at an apartment building. Officers had gone there on 5 March because of an outstanding warrant. During the subsequent arrest, the man allegedly pulled a knife, which officers knocked from his hand. The 33-year-old officer suffered minor injuries and was examined at a hospital but remained fit for duty. Documents found during a search confirmed the man's identity. He paid the fine required under the warrant to avoid detention, and police are investigating him, including on suspicion of assaulting law-enforcement officers.
