Man allegedly injures fellow resident with knife in Deggendorf

A 39-year-old man allegedly injured the arms of a fellow resident, also 39, with a knife at accommodation for asylum seekers in Deggendorf on 12 July. According to initial findings, an argument preceded the attack at about 15:45, during which the man allegedly first struck the resident with a chair. He also allegedly made a death threat. The injured man fled to security staff; both men received medical treatment and were taken to hospital. Police provisionally detained the accused. After a detention warrant over suspected dangerous bodily harm was executed, he was taken to a correctional facility.
