Man threatens police officers with knife in Crailsheim
A 26-year-old man threatened two police officers with a knife in Crailsheim during the night of 2 July 2026. The officers had sought to check him near a petrol station when he drew the knife and moved directly toward them despite repeated instructions to put it down. The officers then fired several shots. The man was injured, taken to hospital and remained under treatment; according to the State Criminal Police Office, his injuries were not life-threatening. The Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office took over the investigation into the police use of firearms.
