Man detained after knife attack during robbery in Chemnitz

A 32-year-old man is suspected of robbing an acquaintance in a pedestrian underpass on Dresdner Straße in Chemnitz during the night of 13 February. According to police, he inflicted several non-life-threatening stab wounds with a knife and took the victim's mobile phone and a three-figure sum of cash.

Federal police officers found the injured man at the entrance to the main railway station. He received hospital treatment and was later discharged. Officers subsequently provisionally detained a 32-year-old suspect at a venue on the same street and seized the suspected weapon. The investigation for aggravated robbery is ongoing.
