Man attacks police officers with knife in Bruchsal
A 48-year-old man died in Bruchsal on the morning of 13 January 2025 after police used firearms. Officers had gone to his home to take him to a psychiatric clinic under a placement order. After officers opened the apartment door, the man immediately attacked them, according to the State Criminal Police Office; he was armed with a knife and a meat cleaver. Police also deployed a dog. Emergency personnel treated the man immediately, but he died at the scene. The Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office is investigating in coordination with the Karlsruhe public prosecutor's office.
