Man threatens bar worker with machete in Bremen

A 63-year-old man threatened a bar worker with a machete at a venue on Woltmershauser Straße in Bremen during the early hours of 2 October 2026. She was closing the bar and declined to serve him a drink; he then drew the machete and struck the counter three times. He fled afterwards. Police identified him as a suspect and seized a firearm and cartridge cases outside the bar; they also found bullet holes in its wall. Whether he was responsible for the bullet holes remains under investigation. Before he entered, the worker had heard noises resembling shots outside but could not initially identify their cause. A separate report said no one was injured.
