Elderly woman seriously injured with knife during Bremen robbery
A 71-year-old woman was seriously injured during a robbery on New Year's morning 2026 on Geestemünder Straße in Bremen's Walle district. An offender allegedly approached her from behind while she was walking home and tried to take her handbag. When she held on to it, a struggle followed and she fell. The robber then allegedly drew a knife and stabbed her forearms several times before fleeing with cash. After initial treatment, the woman was taken to hospital for emergency surgery. Officers arrested a 31-year-old suspect shortly afterwards, and grounds for detention were still being assessed.
