Man threatens two hotel guests with knife in Bremen

A 35-year-old man threatened two acquaintances with a knife at a hotel in Bremen's Überseestadt district on 2 January 2025. Initial findings indicated that he had consumed crack, confined the two men in a room and barricaded the door. Police forced the room door open to free them. During his arrest, the man attacked a 31-year-old police officer with a wooden plank and injured him; the officer received outpatient hospital treatment. The suspect was arrested, and Hansator street was closed over a wide area during the operation.
