Man threatens passer-by with knife in Braunschweig
At about 2:50 p.m. on 27 April, a 37-year-old man threatened a 34-year-old passer-by with a knife at Hagenbrücke in central Braunschweig. He put the knife in his mouth, licked it and then moved closer to the woman while also threatening her verbally. The passer-by moved away and called police. Officers got the man to the ground after threatening to use firearms, restrained him without injury and seized the knife found beside him. After an assessment by a social psychiatric service, the man was taken into custody. Proceedings were opened for making threats and for an alleged violation of weapons law.
