Traffic dispute in Braunschweig ends in knife attack

Following a traffic dispute on Saarstraße in Braunschweig, a 33-year-old driver allegedly attacked a 39-year-old man with a knife on 19 March. After a verbal dispute and a physical confrontation, the man allegedly used the knife against the other driver. The 39-year-old suffered injuries to his head and neck, which hospital staff assessed as not life-threatening.

A witness intervened, brought the suspect to the ground and held him until police arrived. The 33-year-old is being investigated on suspicion of attempted killing. At the request of prosecutors, he was remanded in pre-trial detention the following day.
