Man threatens 21-year-old with knife in Braunschweig

A 43-year-old man allegedly threatened a 21-year-old with a Japanese tanto knife in Braunschweig's Schwarzer Berg district on 30 November. According to police, he made stabbing motions in the air while making incoherent remarks. The 21-year-old was not injured and called police. When officers arrived, the man still had the knife at the Stadion stop and walked away despite being ordered to put it down. After additional officers arrived, he was subdued, restrained without injury and taken into custody; the knife was seized. Following a medical assessment, paramedics took the intoxicated man to hospital because he was in a psychological crisis.
