Woman killed in knife attack in Billigheim-Ingenheim
A 53-year-old woman was killed in a knife attack in Billigheim-Ingenheim on the evening of Friday, 28 August 2026. Police and prosecutors said her 60-year-old former partner is suspected of stabbing her several times with a kitchen knife. Emergency responders unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate the woman. Police arrested the man without resistance, and he has since been placed in pre-trial detention. The Landau public prosecutor's office and Ludwigshafen criminal police are investigating; further background was not initially disclosed.
