Three men injured during knife self-defence in Bielefeld
A 48-year-old man is alleged to have injured three attackers with a knife in a supermarket car park on Lippstädter Straße in Bielefeld after several men attacked him. Police and prosecutors said that a 21-year-old, two 20-year-olds, a 22-year-old and another unidentified man attacked the 48-year-old, beating and kicking him and also using a blank-firing gun. The 48-year-old sustained minor injuries; the 21-year-old was critically injured, one 20-year-old was seriously injured and the other 20-year-old sustained minor injuries. The 22-year-old was uninjured. The 21-year-old's condition stabilised after emergency surgery. Investigators currently consider the knife use to have been self-defence; the men from Ostbevern are under investigation for dangerous bodily harm, while inquiries into further unidentified participants continue.
