Police officer injured with knife during arrest in Berlin

A police officer suffered a stab wound to his arm in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district when a 27-year-old woman drew a knife during her arrest and stabbed toward him several times. The operation began shortly after midnight on Landsberger Allee, where police were assisting firefighters with the woman’s planned medical transport. She already had cuts on her upper arm and repeatedly refused transport to a psychiatric unit; the officers then warned that they would use force. After first aid, the injured officer received outpatient treatment at a hospital and went off duty. The arrested woman was taken to a psychiatric unit, and the knife was seized. Police are investigating suspected resistance to law enforcement officers and aggravated assault.
